The Virex Multi-Drug Urine Test Cup is a rapid, one-step immunoassay for the qualitative, presumptive detection of selected drugs and drug metabolites in human urine. Its integrated format combines specimen collection and multi-drug screening within one secure cup.

Results are qualitative and preliminary. Non-negative results requiring confirmation should be analysed by a suitably accredited laboratory using a specific analytical method, such as GC–MS or LC–MS/MS.
A Clear Five-Step Testing Process
The Virex Drug Cup combines specimen collection and multi-panel screening in one integrated device. Follow the five steps below to collect the specimen, allow the test to develop and interpret the preliminary results.
1. Prepare the Test
Remove the cup from its sealed pouch immediately before use and unscrew the cap, ready for sample collection.
2. Collect the Sample
Collect urine directly into the cup, ensuring the specimen level is above the minimum fill line shown on the label.
3. Secure the Cup
Screw the cap on tightly and start the timer immediately. Check that the cap is secure, then remove the peel-off label to expose the test strips.
4. Allow the Results to Develop
Coloured result lines will begin to appear in the control (C) and test (T) regions of each test strip. Allow the test to develop fully before interpreting the results at the specified reading time.
5. Check and Read the Results
Check the temperature strip at 2-4 minutes and, where included, compare the adulteration pads with the colour chart at 2 minutes. Read the drug test results at 5 minutes.
Important timing information: The expected fresh-specimen temperature range is 32-38°C. Do not interpret adulteration results after 5 minutes or drug test results after 10 minutes. Any non-negative result should be confirmed using an appropriate laboratory method.
